You can enjoy the fresh air or cool off on the Wadden Sea dike. Sit on the high dike, take in the stunning views of the sea and landscape. Walk for hours along the dike or cycle over the sea dike to the restaurant at Zwarte Haan.

The great wealth of our surroundings is not only found in the sea, with its terp villages and former estates and mansions such as Liauckemastate and Ropta State, but also in the land itself. The fertile clay soil is perfect for growing organic crops. It is a sustainable environment where some of our neighboring organic farmers grow and sell high-quality products.

Two of the Eleven Cities, Franeker and Harlingen, are within cycling distance of the holiday home. You can visit the UNESCO Planetarium in Franeker or explore the various harbors in Harlingen (inner harbor, industrial harbor, and fishing harbor). The sea vessels, which transport goods such as salt from the industrial harbor, come and go and can be tracked via marinetraffic.com.
